Natty King, Environmental/Planner

Natty King joined Fort Point Associates, Inc. (FPA) as an intern in Fall of 2022 before starting as a full time Environmental/Urban Planner in Spring of 2023. Since joining the firm, Natty has worked on a variety of waterfront real estate, coastal resilience, and public infrastructure projects across Massachusetts. His primary duties include preparing narrative and graphics content for environmental permit applications under the MEPA, Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 91, and 401 Water Quality Certification programs, among others. He also supports community outreach and stakeholder engagement efforts and conducts preliminary planning analyses on land use controls applicable to commercial, residential, and industrial sites. He is interested in balancing urban redevelopment with preservation of working waterfronts, expanding public access to waterfront sites, and advancing climate change resilience measures across coastal Massachusetts.

Prior to joining FPA, Natty worked as a planning intern for several public and private sector organizations, including as the Lowell L. Richards Fellow for Leadership and Public Service at Massachusetts Port Authority’s Real Estate and Asset Management Division. He previously served as a GIS Analyst at a Boston-based firm, where he developed skills in spatial analysis that he continues to use in his current role. Natty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Vermont and a Master of Arts in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. He is an American Institute of Certified Planners Candidate and is a member of the American Planning Association, Massachusetts Chapter and the Environmental Business Council of New England.
