Beverly Water Street Pump Station

FPA managed a multidisciplinary team in the preparation of a vulnerability assessment and feasibility study of the Water Street Pump Station. Our work included helping the City of Beverly secure a coastal resilience grant for the project from the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM). We worked collaboratively with the City of Beverly, the South Essex Sewerage District (SESD), and Salem Sound Coastwatch to identify, develop, and evaluate near-term flood resilience measures, and to plan for the long-term viability of this high-priority piece of infrastructure. During the course of this project, we also supported SESD in the procurement of deployable floodproofing panels to immediately increase the preparedness of this critical asset. The Water Street Pump Station serves Beverly, Danvers, Middleton, Wenham, and several other entities with a sewerage pumping capacity of 11 million gallons per day.
