Retained by Roseland Property Company, FPA is responsible for directing the environmental review and permitting processes for the redevelopment of the 50 acre Massport-owned Pier 1, Pier 5, and Shipyard in East Boston, MA. The proposal for Pier 1 consists of mixed-use development, which includes approximately 600 residential units, facilities of public accommodation, activation of the water’s edge and significant public access. In addition to ongoing improvements to the shipyard, the Project includes upgrading an existing 180-slip marina and adding up to 200-slips, a new 7,500 square foot marine service building, shoreline stabilization, and attraction of new marine tenants. FPA’s role in the project development requires close coordination with Massport, the City of Boston, East Boston residents and a variety of stakeholders as well as management of the project’s team of sub consultants.
