Erika Welch joined Fort Point Associates as an Urban/Environmental Planner in 2021, bringing experience in environmental data collection, geospatial analysis, and environmental planning. Ms. Welch holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Environmental Science with a focus in Stormwater Management and Urban Development, both from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Since joining the firm, Erika has used her ArcGIS skills to support a range of urban and waterfront projects in the Greater Boston area including the Island End River Flood Resilience Project, Rivergreen Technology Park, and the North End Cross Street Boutique Hotel. Ms. Welch has prepared environmental documentation, including maps and graphics, for a variety of development projects.
Prior to joining FPA, Erika was a planning assistant with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Office of Cultural Resources. She identified key threats and opportunities for natural, cultural, and recreational resources on state properties and evaluated climate change impacts and resource vulnerability to help inform future decisions. She also held positions in other government and academic institutions.
