FPA was retained by the owner of the 50-slip marina to acquire approvals for a phased approach to rehabilitate the Provincetown, MA marina, and the construction of a 35-berth marina expansion to meet the need for additional vessel berthing. FPA worked with the client to resolve issues related to previous violations on site, ecological constraints posed by adjacent eelgrass, shellfish, and endangered species habitat, and worked with the Town of Provincetown to address constraints on parking and employee housing consistent with the local economy. FPA advanced the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act process, coordinated historic review and obtained approvals from the Board of Selectmen, local conservation commission, state waterways, and water quality regulation programs, Massachusetts Coastal Zone Management, and Army Corps of Engineers to accomplish the proposed expansion.
