FPA was retained by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority to obtain construction and environmental approvals for the largest building project in the City of Boston. FPA was responsible for identifying permitting requirements, integrating approvals into the project schedule, and securing all necessary approvals to support an aggressive construction schedule. This $8750 million, 1.9 million square foot building posed unique regulatory challenges and required a number of variances related to its long-span structure. FPA's work included plans for storm water best management practices, a storm water outfall, utility relocation, street closures, street layouts, fire department reviews, railroad grade crossings, multiple building and occupancy permits, accessibility reviews, and excavated materials management.
